haha, i love how it's 2:35 in the morning and my eyelids are less than a tenth of a millimeter from closing .. but yet, i am still awake.
i was telling vinny earlier that i'm slipping back into my summertime night-owl habits. i've always loved being awake this late. things are always so loud and obnoxious around the house during the day: my mom's work phone ringing endlessly, the lawn guy mowing at all the wrong times, my grandpa turning the tv volume up loud enough that he doesn't need his hearing aids to listen to brian williams, the cat purring in his lap (okay, i don't know if i've mentioned this, but hobbes is half bob cat. so he purrs loud enough to be heard in another room on the other side of the house .. with all the doors closed. no exaggeraton.) so you get the idea. i've come to really value the quiet, and at 2:35 am, there is nothing but the quiet. and i love it.
so today was a relaxing day. i went drivng with my mom in the afternoon, managing to wound 8 pedestrians and cause a few rollovers. just kidding. although that's what you'd think was about to happen, if you heard her yelling. "wait until you have to teach your sixteen-year old to drive!", she cries. ahh, can't wait, mom. can't wait.
after picking up and eating chinese food for dinner, i shot my final self portrait for the year along with this lightbulb picutre that turned into the photoshop comp that is my picture for today. i had this idea, to represent the past year, and the year to come. this idea of growth. and today's picture is what it turned into. click to see it larger, i really like how it turned out (:

i'm not really sure if i've mentioned this before or not, but i've been doing a self portrait project for the past year. i began last december, taking a picture of myself once a month, and now the project has come full circle. i haven't decided what to do with the images yet, although i have a few ideas. suggestions are always welcome, although out of the 50-something views a day that i track to this blog .. very few of you "mysterious blog readers", as i've affectionately come to call you, choose to comment. and that's fine too, i suppose.
goodnight, hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

I admit that I'd love to have my comments buried in amongst lots of others, and since you track 50 or so visitors per day it's only a matter of time before they become bold and start commenting.

Didn't know about your self-portrait project, but when I clicked to see today's shot enlarged I noticed a shot of you there. I'll go look at the others. A great idea to make a personal photo journal like that.

Today's photo is, I think, my favorite so far. Fantastic! It makes a huge statement about greening our energy usage. The peace sign ring is a nice touch too. I'm just sure you could sell this one to one of the key environmental groups.

thank you! i really like how it turned out, too (:
i'll definitely keep my eyes open for a group to market it to, i didn't realize what a great image it would make for something like that!
